About the event
MCA is looking forward to holding our next AGM in person on June 11, 2022 at 11:00am! All MCA members are invited to attend this exciting event featuring performances by local choirs, the inaugural performance of the 2021 winning piece in the Frances Seaton Choral Composition Competition, the presentation of the 2022 Awards of Distinction, a complimentary BBQ lunch, and a chance to peruse hundreds of giveaways from the MCA library. You won't want to miss this opportunity to connect with fellow members of the choral community again!
SCHEDULE
- 10:00am - 11:00am - Arrival/sign-in; music giveaways available by donation (Main Entrance foyer; MCA office)
- 11:00am - 12:00pm - AGM; choir performances; Awards of Distinction presentation (Lecture Hall)
- 12:00pm - 2:00pm - BBQ lunch; time for socializing; music giveaways available by donation (South parking lot; greenspace; MCA office)
The event will take place at the Canadian Mennonite University south campus (600 Shaftesbury Blvd.), and the AGM will be livestreamed over Zoom for those unable to be present in-person. The MCA office is on the lower level and the Lecture Hall in on the second floor. Both are accessible by stairs or by elevator.
The wearing of masks is strongly encouraged, and is especially recommended if you have been in contact with someone who has been ill, if you have any symptoms yourself, or for other reasons for which you feel wearing a mask would be appropriate.
All members in good standing and in attendance have the right to vote at the AGM. Individual members and honorary members are entitled to one vote each, and member choirs and corporate members are entitled to designate one representative to vote on their behalf. More representatives from these member groups may attend, but only one may vote.
AGM reports and materials are now available for members and can be accessed via the Members-Only Resources page under RESOURCES in our menu above. Note that you will need your MCA password to access the documents!
Members must register to attend the AGM either in-person or virtually. Please RSVP no later than Wednesday, June 8, 2022 to secure your spot!
