Strathclair Theatre Chorus is looking for a choral director. 

Rehearsals - Saturdays/Sundays, September to November (total of approx. 32 hours). 

Concerts - 4 to 6 in November and January 

Sample of Duties include: 

Working collaboratively with the planning committee to: 

• identify suitable music 

• set rehearsal schedule 

• establish chorus membership requirements 

Working independently to: 

• finalize music selection 

• establish program order 

• direct all rehearsals and performances

Qualifications: 

• training in choral conducting or experience directing choirs required 

• works well in group planning situations

• demonstrates good communication skills 

Annual Honorarium available

Part-time (6-7 hours/week), September 2025 to mid-May 2026. (This position will be vacant on January 1, 2025 and therefore could commence sooner.)

Duties: 

• Direct weekly choir rehearsals and two Sunday performances per month

• Meet with the Sunday Services Committee once a month

• Choose Sunday Service anthems and hymns in consultation with

• ministers/service leaders, as familiarity with these increases

• Provide an annual report about the music ministry to the congregation

• Attend the Unitarian Universalist Music Conference

Qualifications 

• Training in choral conducting or experience directing choirs required

• Demonstrates good communication skills

• Maintains professional boundaries

• Must pass a criminal record background check

The Assiniboine Chorus is a 30-member women's chorus who is motivated, fun-loving, and passionate about singing a cappella 4-part harmony in the barbershop style. We are looking for a dynamic Musical Director with strong musical skills who must be able to teach with infectious enthusiasm and a sense of humour, and who has a clear vision for success. The candidate must have strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work positively with others. Experience directing vocal music would be an asset.

We're an established, auditioned, self-directed a cappella group of 12 women, singing a variety of older and current music in exciting harmony mainly, but not limited to, the barbershop style. MCA is looking for 2-3 individuals who want to make a difference in our province’s choral community to join our Program Committee! The MCA Program Committee plans, monitors, and evaluates MCA’s annual program slate offered to the Manitoba choral community. This includes MCA’s flagship programs (ChoralFest & MB Sings) in addition to workshops, concerts, and professional development and community events. The committee is led by Program Director Jorrel Camuyong and is made up of several program subcommittee chairs, along with members representing various segments of the wider MCA community. The group meets virtually 3-4 times per year and though some meetings may be replaced by email correspondence. From time to time, committee members are invited to be more involved in planning and implementing specific events. We invite expressions of interest from choral directors and choristers representing diverse cultural backgrounds, ages, and experience.
